Adults can participate in softball, flag football, basketball, volleyball and kickball at various times throughout the year. Youth programs are available through local youth program providers. Golf lovers can enjoy golfing at Sherrill Park municipal course, with two 18-hole courses, or join the private golf club of Canyon Creek Country Club.
Richardson is served by two school districts. The Dallas County portion, which is about 2/3 of the city, is served by Richardson Independent School District, and the Collin County portion is served by Plano Independent School District. For those desiring a private school education, the city is home to two Catholic K-8 schools – St. Joseph School and St. Paul the Apostle School. Other private schools include Canyon Creek Christian Academy, North Dallas Adventist Academy and Dallas North Montessori School.
Higher education opportunities in the city limits include The University of Texas at Dallas. Richland College, a community college that is part of the Dallas County Community College District, has a location in Dallas, on the Richardson border.
